NHS professionals

Fertility2U works alongside NHS fertility services to manage prescription validation, medication supply, delivery coordination and patient communication, reducing avoidable administration for clinical teams.

Fertility2U is a fertility focussed homecare pharmacy supporting NHS fertility services with prescription processing, dispensing and home delivery of prescribed fertility medication.

Our role is to take ownership of defined pharmacy and delivery activities after a prescription is received, providing a structured process for validation, dispensing, patient communication and delivery coordination.

For NHS teams, this can reduce routine administration and give clearer status information when a prescription or delivery needs attention, while clinical decisions and treatment oversight remain with the treating service.

Reducing operational pressure after prescription

Once fertility medication has been prescribed, the operational work that follows can create additional pressure for busy fertility teams. Prescription queries, dispensing requirements, patient communication and delivery coordination all need to be managed accurately and at the right time.

Fertility2U manages the pharmacy and delivery elements within scope, including direct communication with patients where appropriate. This can reduce routine follow-up for NHS teams and help identify issues that may affect medication supply earlier in the pathway.

Working alongside NHS teams and systems

Our service is designed to work alongside established NHS fertility pathways, with secure prescription submission, structured processing and clear communication. The aim is to support existing clinical workflows rather than introduce unnecessary additional steps.

As an established homecare pharmacy provider, we operate within a number of established NHS tender frameworks across the UK. This reflects how our service meets the needs of trusts at both regional and national levels.

From NHS prescription to home delivery

The operational pathway is designed to give NHS teams a clear handover point once a prescription is ready for pharmacy processing.

  1. Prescription received

The NHS fertility service or referring clinical team submits the prescription through the agreed secure route.

  2. Pharmacy validation and dispensing

Our pharmacy team checks the prescription against the relevant legal and pharmacy requirements. If clarification or additional information is required, the appropriate team is contacted before dispensing can proceed.

  3. Patient onboarding and communication

Where required, we contact the patient to confirm the information needed for medication supply and delivery, providing a direct point of contact for pharmacy and delivery queries.

  4. Delivery coordination

Once the medication is ready, delivery is arranged under the appropriate conditions and the patient receives the relevant dispatch and tracking information.

  5. Ongoing issue management

If a prescription, order or delivery issue could affect medication supply, our teams manage the pharmacy or logistics element and escalate back to the NHS service where clinical input is required.

Your questions, answered

We work in partnership with NHS fertility clinics and referring clinical teams to receive prescriptions, coordinate medication supply and deliver prescribed fertility medication to patients’ homes. Clinical treatment remains under the oversight of the treating NHS service.

Our pharmacy and customer support teams manage defined prescription, order, patient communication and delivery activities. This can reduce the time clinical teams spend chasing routine medication queries or delivery updates.

Patients can contact our pharmacy and customer support teams for prescription requirements, order status, delivery arrangements and medication logistics. Questions about treatment plans, dosing or changes to medication remain with the treating clinical team.

Fertility treatment can involve tightly scheduled medication. Our prescription validation, dispensing and delivery processes are designed to support those timelines, with escalation where an issue could affect medication supply.

We send patients delivery notifications and updates during the dispatch process so they know when to expect their medication. Where an issue requires action from the NHS team, it can be escalated through the agreed service route.

Fertility2U operates under MHRA and GPhC regulation and maintains ISO 9001:2015 accreditation. All prescriptions are validated before dispensing, and medications are handled and distributed in line with regulatory and quality standards.
