Meriofert 75 IU powder and solvent for solution for injection vials (1 Single Vial)

Meriofert PFS is a highly purified human menopausal gonadotrophin, belonging to a group of medicines called gonadotrophins. Each freeze-dried vial contains 75 IU human follicle stimulating hormone activity (FSH) and 75 IU human luteinising hormone activity (LH). Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG), a hormone naturally present in urine of pregnant women, is added to contribute to the total LH activity.

Each freeze-dried vial contains 150 IU human follicle stimulating hormone activity (FSH) and 150 IU human luteinising hormone activity (LH).

Meriofert is used in the treatment of infertility or as part of a programme of treatment in assisted reproduction. Assisted reproduction increases the chances of having a multiple pregnancy. You should discuss multiple pregnancy with your prescriber if you are considering having Menotrophin as part of a programme of treatment of assisted reproduction.

What is it used for?

In females:

To induce follicular maturation during the management of infertility caused by the failure of the ovaries to produce eggs (anovulatory infertility) In in vitro fertilisation (test tube) procedures or other assisted conception techniques to induce multiple follicular development.

Warnings

The use of Meriofert may cause harmful over stimulation of the ovaries. If you experience pain or swelling of the abdomen, weight gain, difficulty breathing, increased thirst, decreased urine output, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea, tell your doctor immediately.

Very rarely, allergic reactions have been reported after treatment.

Directions

Meriofert should be stored at a temperature not greater than 25°C.
It must also be protected from light.
Do NOT use Meriofert if it is past the expiry date on the packaging. If you are unsure about the storage ask your pharmacist.
It is best to return all old and unused medication to your pharmacist for safe disposal.
All medicines should be stored away from children.
