Merional also known as Menotrophin (Men-oh-troh-fin) is a medicine which is used in female infertility and male infertility.
It's used to treat, control or prevent a condition. Menotrophin contains a hormone called human menopausal gonadotrophin. Human menopausal gonadotrophin is a combination of two naturally-occurring female hormones, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinising hormone (LH), extracted and purified from the urine of post-menopausal women. In men it is used to treat poor sperm count (oligospermia)
Menotrophin is used in the treatment of infertility or as part of a programme of treatment in assisted reproduction. Assisted reproduction increases the chances of having a multiple pregnancy.
